We are seeking visual artwork including but not limited to:

  • TIFF or maximum JPEG format

We are seeking writing including but not limited to:

  • Flash Fiction
  • Poetry
  • Feature Articles: In-depth stories focusing on a specific artist, movement, or art-related topic.
  • Reviews: Critiques of current exhibitions, shows, albums, films, etc.
  • Profiles: Interviews with artists, curators, or dealers that highlight their personal background and artistic process.
  • Opinion/Commentary: Essays providing critical analysis on the state of art, aesthetics, history, movements, etc.

We are seeking cover designs that are:

  • Traditional/physical art (no digital art)
  • High resolution 300 DPI
  • TIFF or maximum JPEG format
  • 8.5×5.5 inches
  • Designed with a horizontal 4×2.5 in. area for the Kenozia masterhead logo placement. Placement can be on top, in the center, or on the bottom of the cover.

All artists or writers must be based in the Kenosha (or surrounding) area, have ties to or a presence in Kenosha, or have artwork/writing with subject matter that relates to Kenosha.

You may submit 3-7 artworks. Include the title of the work within the file name.

All submissions must include metadata. For artworks, include titles, year of creation, medium, and dimensions. For writing, include genre, title of work, word count, and year of creation.

You may submit 1 work of writing (Maximum 750 words). Flash fiction stories must be in manuscript format. All other writing works must be in CMOS format.

All submissions must be zine-ready! That means you need to put your full bio (note that it might be edited down); photos must be of a professional level and not cropped (if you do not have these kinds of photos available, add a note in the artist statement that you will need photos taken). A headshot is also needed (if you do not have a headshot, also include that as a note; if your work is to be included in Kenozia, a headshot is required- we will send a photographer to you). Any half-hearted submissions will not be accepted.

Kenozia does NOT accept A.I.-generated works.
