About

Kenozia is a print-only, quarterly zine showcasing the work of local Kenosha artists, photographers, and writers created by Sarah Opatz. Kenozia debuted in summer 2025.

You can purchase copies of the zine at Blue House Books or East View Coffee (while supplies last), or scroll down for other options. To purchase online, we use the Ko-fi platform; the links on this page will take you there to check out. Click the title of each section to take you to the link.

Every quarter we throw a release party in partnership with Blue House Books. This is your chance to meet the artists in the zines and connect with the art community. The parties include live music and panel discussions. Keep an eye on the Blue House Books Events Calendar for the next one!

Are you a local, professional artist? Email your submissions to sarahopatz@distinctivemediums.com; include your name, zip code, 3-5 creative works (or cover art), and your resume (optional).

Annual Subscription

Purchase an annual subscription to Kenozia for only $30 and get each issue mailed to you for one year. That’s a total of four issues. You will also get the Kenozia sticker!

Monthly Memberships

Want to support Kenozia monthly? Choose between the $10 or $20 a month membership. Each membership option includes a subscription to the zine. The higher tier includes monthly perks like behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, stickers, and more.

Kenozia Merchandise

Purchase Kenozia merchandise through the Lettering Machine. Now you can show your support in style. Each quarter we choose one nonprofit organization to receive $5 from every merch item sold. Not only will you look great rocking our apparel, but you will also feel good supporting two causes.

For this quarter (winter to spring), the proceeds will go to NAMI Kenosha County.

Annual Sponsorship

Help sponsor the zine with an annual sponsorship. This option is great for local businesses, community-driven organizations, or families who are patrons of the arts. Perks include a copy of the zine each quarter, your logo on the sponsor page, and discounts on ads.

Advertisement

Interested in placing an ad in Kenozia? There are two ad sizes: the first is 2.5″ x 2.5″ for $35, and the other is 4″ x 4″ (half page) for $50.

Wholesale

If you would like to sell Kenozia at your business, email sarahopatz@distinctivemediums.com for our cost sheet. We will hand deliver your order.

If you are a business with a waiting room and would like to purchase the zine for your customers to read while they wait, you can also purchase the zine at the wholesale cost.
